Travel is an important part of extending our cultural awareness and learning more about what makes us human but it can seem like a selfish pursuit. Helping the Ocean Clean Up in Greece

The Greek Islands are a beautiful destination for a holiday, whether you head to mainland Greece itself or spend a few weeks on one of the islands such as Crete you can enjoy both tourism and isolation. The National Marine Park of Zakynthos was set up in 1999 and is the first of it’s kind in Europe. It was created to help protect the Loggerhead Turtle. Tourism bought with it lots of plastic and waste, putting this species in danger. The park encourages tourist outings to help their plight in clearing the sea of rubbish. Taking One day out of your holiday could make a huge difference to the future of our seas.

As far as countries go, Africa has it all. Not only will you be welcomed by the local communities but you will find a diverse and rich landscape. Paws Patas is a rescue home for stray dogs and cats in Spain. Like many countries in Europe there are many feral animals. The locals see this as a pest problem and in the deeper southern parts of the country they can become neglected and desperate for help.
