#HIMYM: Barney & Robin's Legendary Wedding

I think I'm going to cry. Not only is How I Met Your Mother ending tomorrow, I got to see the longest pre-wedding in television culminate. My favorite couple, Robin and Barney, just got hitched and the ending to my favorite sitcom (tied with ABC's Castle) feels even more real to me. OH MY GOSH THE FEELS!

So to celebrate / eulogize, I'm going to reminisce on last Monday's episode on The Wedding and How The Mother (still no name) Met Aunt Robin. Excuse me, I have to blow my nose.

AT THIS POINT, SPOILER ALERT! Code RED! (Why do I even bother?)

So Robin is having second thoughts about marrying Barney (and Barney is having second thoughts about his tie) at the last moment because she thinks she should be marrying Ted instead because he's reliable and honest and clearly what Barney isn't (deceitful and ex-womanizer). Ted tries to snap her out of it but fails so she runs off and BAM! Ted's Past and Ted's Future collide (if you didn't get it, Robin bumped into The Mother). She fixes everything (doesn't she always?) by telling Robin to take three deep breaths and by the time Robin figures out that she really loves Barney and makes her way back into the church, but Barney finds her first and does something she totally didn't expect but always secretly yearned. After watching Lily and Marshall be soppy and reaffirm their vows, Barney realizes that the only vow he can ever keep is to be honest with Robin. This being what Robin really wants, all insecurities drift away and they wed!

That's what you missed on Glee. Err, How I Met Your Mother.

Now! On to the wedding!

At the last minute, Barney is still having second thoughts about his tie, thinking that he should be wearing his Cornflower blue tie that he left in his Manhattan apartment and that the guys need to stall for him 6 hours tops while he goes to retrieve it.

At this point, Marshall slaps Barney, capping off the Slap Bet of '06. Barney snaps out of it and returns to craning his head for his bride.

Robin makes such a wonderful bride, doesn't she? As she trots gracefully down the aisle, it's becoming more and more real to me. I feel my chest tightening as I attempt to fill it with air.

And look! There really is a wedding bear! (The mystery is revealed at last)

Robin loves the wedding bear (which doesn't surprise me at all)

'None of us can vow to be perfect. In the end, all we could do is love each other with everything we've got'

'Because love is the best thing we do'

And Ted's right, 'It was legendary.'
