Let's Get #CGYFit!

Let's face it, food bloggers aren't fittest bunch. Especially those whose food conquests are on par with Barney Stinson's womanizing (pre-Robin) and those who think 'fitness exercise' means a walk DOWN the stairs. Growing up physically fat, I've often wondered what it's like to say "Let's go to the gym!" And today, after 20 years of idling by, I have finally decided to pay the gym a little visit.

Last Saturday, March 28, The CDOBloggers were invited to try a couple of fitness classes (Boxing, Plyometrics and Yoga) and attend the Grand Opening of CGYFit, a new Fitness Solutions Center in Cagayan de Oro. They believe that anyone can get fit so their clientele consists of people with various body types.

Five Reasons Why You Should Get #CGYFit
1. Clean Amenities

2. Superfood for the Supers
Kefir Buko Pandan flavor
Before and after our training, we had Kefir Superfood that contains living enzymes and probiotics that detoxify the entire body, hasten digestion and improve bowel movement.

3. Superb Fitness Programs

I was sent, like an intrepid soldier, to brave a Plyometrics class coached by Mr. Nikki Go, the only trainer in Cagayan de Oro accredited by ACE (American Council on Exercise) who just happens to be CGYFit's head trainer. He and his staff really encouraged us to push ourselves to the limit, solidifying their poster 'If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you'.

This workout is very therapeutic for those who want to get back on their bosses / exes.
Plyometrics (apparently the language nerds at Google don't exercise too because they keep on auto correcting 'Plyometrics' to 'Play metrics') The class is Php300 per session for non-members and Php250 for members. If you want to take this to the next level, you can always get their 12 sessions / month package at Php2,500 (members only). Be ye warned that this isn't for the (literally) faint hearted. In the wise words of my fitness junkie Mia Durano of The Handmade Turban, "Plyo is very physically demanding. You have to want it hard."

No, I checked, there weren't any boxes here. (CGYFit Boxing area)
Boxing. Before the Plyometrics session, my friends were offered free Boxing lessons by their very accommodating staff (I came in late because I had to get ready for my graveyard shift). I caught them tossing punches and snapped some photos. Boxing is one on one Php250 for non-members and Php150 for members, 12 sessions / month is only Php1,500!

The studio is the epitome of tranquility. (CGYFit Studio)
Yoga. Yoga & Pilates is such a lovely way to relax. The instructor, Ms. Lyn, is very friendly and indulgent. I am seriously thinking of doing more yoga in the future. CGYFit's Yoga made me relaxed and comfortable in my own skin, they didn't force us to say the 'Om' mantra because want to cater to everyone from various religious upbringing. It is especially good for me because I don't think I can relax if I'm unconsciously worshiping a Hindu god (I'm Christian) or whatever. It's Php280 for non-members, Php200 for members and Php_ for 12 sessions / month.

They have other fitness programs as well: Paleo Circuit, Muay Thai, Athletic Strength and Conditioning, Yoga & Pilates, Dance (Zumba, Aero, Power Jam, Dancercize, Belly Dance, Mixed Dance, Sexy Dance), Ballet (For 3-5 years old, 6-9 years old and 10 and up), Teen Hip hop, Kids Latin Dance, Modern Dance and Mixed Martial Arts (Balintawak, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Karatedo, TaeKwonDo and Judo)

4. Awesome Coaches
Mr. Nikki Go (middle) and his team nearly killed us during our Plyo class.
Here with the lithesome Ms. Lyn who accommodated us very well in Yoga.
Their trainers are very friendly and encouraging. They push you to be healthier by exercising, training and eating right. They've received massive amounts of training and live the healthy life you've always wanted to live. Personal Training is Php3,500 per month (members only), that's 12-14 sessions. It's one-on-one for that healthier, fitter you!
