Post-College Life Experiences To Try

Me at my graduation with the parentals. Photo credit to my NY based photographer friend: Jo Yanez
Graduating from college is one of those milestones in life that you can sometimes miss in the moment. You’ve been working so hard to obtain your degree and your mind is already focusing on what you’re going to do next - grad school? An internship? Perhaps even delving into full-time work? - that you miss the fact it is such a seismic event in your life.

Doing Some Work While on Vacation

A lot of people love the idea of spending their life traveling the world, doing work as they go. Unfortunately though, a lot of people also think that they reality of this is impossible. It’s easy to think that money will get in the way of you traveling for years on end. Or even just for a couple of weeks. But if you’re willing to put the work in, you can go pretty much anywhere you’d like to. To help you out, this post will be going through a couple of ways that can be used to get yourself a place to stay for just a little bit of work. But, remember: this can be risky (and no, I don't mean the illegal kind of risky, I'll have none of that here). What with any kind of solo traveling, doing plenty of research before you head out there is key.

It's Never To Late to Start Learning to Drive

Have you gone through your entire life without a driving licence? You probably think you don't need one after this long, right? While that’s a logical stance to take, you also need to consider the ways in which you’ve held yourself back. Being able to drive legally could mean you can accept jobs further away from home. That could benefit your family and increase your quality of life. You could also take a spur of the moment weekend away if you have a set of wheels in the driveway. That being said, learning to drive is one of the most important life skills a person could have. While many believe that teaching an older, more mature person to drive is hard, it's not impossible so long as the learner is willing.

The "Bear" Essentials? Hiking In Nature

Exploring the wonders of the world is wonderful from whatever angle you view it, but viewing it from 1000 feet up, standing on a piece of rock, staring out at the wonders of God’s creation is a real treat. It’s like when we are flying high above the clouds and looking down, it makes you really appreciate how small we are, plus, it’s really cool! Much like any pastime that requires any length of physical activity, you need to prepare yourself properly. Here are some of the basics you need.

It's been a while since I posted something, and even a longer while since I shared about my personal travels. 7 Verses To Encourage You

Reading God's Word is one of the five elements of Christian growth along with prayer, worship, fellowship and witnessing. It is where our knowledge of God and His will for us increases. In this world, we eat thrice a day to ensure proper nourishment of our fleshy shells, but in the spiritual sense we sometimes forgo the importance of spiritual nutrition. To prevent this from happening, I set up a reminder system to help me record my Bible reading and the verses I meditate on. I also subscribed to daily emails from BibleVerses.com to aid me in my daily devotion. This week has mostly been about encouragement which I felt convicted to share with you.

The Return of Ohpenda.com

This year created one too many milestones for me since not only have I wrapped up my college education, vacayed sans parentals to a foreign land, aced my nursing boards, agonized over a job interview, landed a much coveted job--I am also on my way to composing my longest run-on sentence ever. To say that I've been busy would be an understatement. But despite that, I managed to make time to chew over whether or not I should keep this blog alive. Have you ever had those moments when your body is dead tired, but your brain just keeps going on and on and on...
