JBurger is a flame-broiled gourmet burger place found on Tomasaco-6th Street in Nazareth. After interviewing some of the staff, I found out that the Hollywood-inspired burgeria is owned by Mr. Frederick Go, son of the owner of the famous Kathryn's Bakeshop.
They've been open for a while but I only got to try them 2 weeks ago (yes, it's been two weeks. Forgive me for being slow) and decided to do a little review.
The place is Hollywood inspired, in a sense that there's this Hollywood Hills landscape imitation outside and framed autographs from Hollywood stars hanging on the walls. The brick walls inside are really made out of bricks (Yay). The place is fairly clean when we came in (around two in the afternoon) and the temperature high even though the aircon was on highcool. Quick heads up on the smoke from all the grilling: they have grill exhaust at the back but if it bothers you, you can always sit outside or grab a takeout. It didn't bother me, if you're asking. I actually liked it, a sign that my burgers are on the way.
Young professionals and Xavier students frequent the scene. They're either socializing (talking and laughing) or antisocializing (reading a book or the tabloid). I's got that rugged homey-ness feel to it. People quickly fill in, especially around 11pm. Store hours are from 10am to 2am.
Menu
The staff said that their bestsellers are Homer and Frank Sinatra. I went there with my food buddy for snacks so we ordered two JClassics and a lasagna (we're heavy smackers, lol)
Lasagna (Php110)
I'm going with the bad news first. It was so sweet for me, and too loose. Fairly mediocre presentation (they should've just served it on a plate). It was too greasy and inconsistently baked. On the menu it said 'good for two' but they must mean good for two children. I was disappointed.
JClassic (Php99)
Now unto the good news! The JClassic is greased to perfection! Their patty flavor is one of (if not) the best in Cagayan de Oro! Flavor-wise, it's perfect and the aftertaste is nicely done. I went bananas (totally bananas) and I could definitely see myself coming back for more. My only problem is that I need more to make a decent meal. They should make a large version for us fairly heavy eaters. It's okay for snack time but not meal time. I'd pay more if it means I get a little more.

The wait time for the burgers is a little longer than what I'd expected but it's OK if you have a companion (person or a good book). They have attentive and helpful staff. They were very accommodating and tried to help out the best way they could when I told them I was a blogger and wanted to review their place. There are only two of them at that time, excluding the guard watching over the entrance.
Disclaimer: I was NOT invited to review this place. Furthermore, I NEVER lie on my reviews.
