Going On A Spontaneous Adventure

The other day I found myself on a bus ride to Camp Phillips, Bukidnon, with nothing but a backpack of nursing paraphernalia, a wad of cash and a friend I coerced to accompany me. What was I doing there? Well it was a holiday (our National Day of Valor) and it was only then that I realized I still have three cases I have yet to close. So I embark on a wonderful journey to find a hospital that will allow me to on-call despite my ridiculously bright hair (which will be explained on another day). Of course, I enlist the help of my mother who quickly, but not eagerly, hands me some money; my guy friend, a local of aforementioned viable location who just returned from his family's reunion of some sort; my close friend who's the girlfriend of aforementioned (what is up with this word?) guy friend. I go on a wild adventure to find The Hospital.

Excuses, Excuses

I am ashamed of myself. I haven't really been posting alot recently, as you can see. And it's because I've been very busy with the local elections. I'm campaigning for someone this year, this year being the first election I've ever involved myself in, as I only turned 18 last year. It has been quite festive around the city, moving campaigns, flyers and banners floating around. These businesses have been increasing their prices for a while now, I guess it would be a challenge finding cheap vinyl banner printing now that we're this close to May 13.

It's been a really hard week for me, what with all the things I've been doing, and it's not helping that I'm taking summer classes. My cousins are also visiting this week so I guess I'll be busier. I have a post ready for y'all but I have to see what it looks like on a PC, I hate giving you half baked posts. So please be patient with me, tabs are quite nice for quick publishes but it's too hard to customize stuff on this thing.

Getting Social.

Hey you guys, I don't know if you've figured it out yet, but I've only been blogging since September last year. I personally think it's been a good year, filled with alot of opportunities and events sponsored by our local blogging community, CDO Bloggers. One of which, is the event I attended last March 23 at Mbox Internet Cafe (Pabayo-Cruz Taal St.) which was about Basic Blogging and Social Media Promotion. It was quite a helpful workshop, it highlighted the effects of social media promotion and its impact on our society today.

I am not a blogging mastermind, nor do I intend to study all there is to blogging, but I love blogging, I can't help it that I think about blogging about something 16 hours a day (although what I manage to actually write about is less). This has become such a powerful hobby to me, more than that, it's a label now. I think I would still blog even if no one reads my blog but the fact that I am actually catering readers is a great ego boost (*wink wink*) And I do believe social media has been a great factor for the popularity I am receiving.

For example, I was caught off guard when my friends from school (who I am reluctant to call 'my friends' because of my social handicaps) told me they liked my blog. These people were my classmates but I, sadly, hardly ever talked to them, and now they knew about my blog. How'd they find out? It hit me like a wagon that I've been unconsciously promoting my blog on facebook. It wasn't that long that I took my social media promotion up a notch by extending to twitter, linkedin, google+ and many other social networking sites and microblogs. These were all discussed in the workshop, it was wonderful.
