Drugstore Makeup Favorites

I love make-up. I try to be the girl who doesn't but I can't deny it from you guys anymore. I don't wear much on a daily basis, not because I don't want to but rather because of my laziness and the hour of the day I have to be at school/the hospital. On the rare occasions that I do, I like wearing medium to full coverage, cat eyeliner (the gift of Asian eyes), minimal blush and lipstick. So today I thought about sharing my drugstore make up favorites and where to get them in the Philippines.

I usually put my foundation on before I apply my concealer. I don't know if that's the proper way to do it but I prefer to do it this way since my foundation is medium-to-full coverage. I apply the concealer to the uneven parts and don't have a big problem with is since thin and blends well. My foundation is Revlon's Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation in Nude and my concealer is Revlon's Photoready #003. The foundation I really like, although a bit difficult to apply, because the of premium quality despite Revlon being a drugstore brand. Too bad they phased-out the product sometime ago. They replaced it with a new product that I haven't tried, the colors are still the same though.

For my blush, I don't put too much but I'm a big fan of ELF's Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream. My sister's make up savvy friend recommended it to her and in turn, she recommended it to me. It's fairly cheap but has good pigmentation. It has warm undertones and my application is usually subtle because I don't want it to compete with my eye make-up. You can find these at various Robinsons and SM Department Store and Watsons as well. If you're too lazy (trust me, I sympathize) to go out and buy them, you You can shop for cosmetic & makeup products at Zalora. It saves you the time and they get delivered to your doorstep!

I usually paint cat eyes, not because of affinity to it but out of habit (plus I get lots of compliments for my eyes when I do). The eyeliner I really love is Clio's Kill Black Pen Liner. My mom first bought me this from a Watsons Drug Store in Singapore. It's cheap but it doesn't smudge like many drugstore eyeliners out there (that claim they don't smudge) and has great pigmentation. If I have to hurry, I apply L'Oreal's Color Riche Eye Shadow in E3 Infiniment Bronze (the darkest one) with haste and flatly, without the make-up equivalent of a sfumato (hence, just all over my eyelid). When I'm attending weddings, birthday, church anniversaries, I usually get someone else to do it for me but all in my favorite muddy tones. The only place I know you can get the Clio liner from here in the Philippines is Ensogo.com and L'Oreal can also be found at various department stores and drugstores.

Lipstick isn't something I can do without and the rule of many will always apply: the more, the merrier! Drugstore lipstick brands that I have include L'Oreal (their glossy ones), Maybelline (because they're always a bargain), Rimmel (I love their Kate Moss series!), Nyx (Soft Matte Lip Cream for the win!) and Etude house (because their colors really suit Asian complexion). Always the warm undertones (except probably that bold pink color Rimmel Kate Moss #20 that I adore) and in varying degrees of pink, red and orange. The BYS magic lipstick I also dig even though the packaging is just really hard to manage.
