Globe's #StopSPAM Campaign

Photo very unrelated. If you love spam or you're from spam, no offense. Okay, maybe a little.
Last year, Globe launched its most comprehensive and aggressive campaign yet to fight the proliferation of spam messages. Part of the campaign is that subscribers are now able to report text and call spammers through their website and Globe will warn the said numbers. If the reports persists, the numbers are deactivated and it's one less evil spam number.

This has been a long standing problem with prepaid subscribers since there is no way to trace these numbers. Individuals with evil intentions are not the only ones doing this, private companies also send promotional texts to frustrated customers who did not subscribe. They also launched filtering mechanisms last August to prevent firing of multiple scam and spam messages. As of January 2015, they've blocked up to 10 million spam/scam messages.

These spam messages, harmless or not, is a direct violation to our privacy. Commercially, it is an invasive form of advertising which, in most cases, are unwelcome. Scammers are worse, the less informed fall prey every day. And even for those smart enough to know the difference between the official Globe numbers and the posers, it is still extremely annoying. For postpaid users like me, I get an average of 5 spams DAILY. Telling everyone of them to buzz off is not only costly, but also, very tiring (EVERDAY, ladies and gents!) So you know what I'm gonna do the next time? I'm gonna tweet it (#StopSPAM) to @talk2Globe because giving them a piece of my mind is a waste of mind!

So yeah, that's it for my #StopSPAM story. I feel like hash-tagging alot today so #sorrynotsorry
